UGH.....it's Sunday evening. I hate Sunday evenings, especially with Mondays like tomorrow. We've got a basketball game and it's an hour earlier than normal, so the bus leaves at 3:30. Nana will be picking you up from Miss Jessie's and then Aunt Shelly will be bringing you home for bed. I won't even see you at all. I really hate that. It'll make tomorrow such a long day.
You were quite fussy this afternoon. You refused to sleep this afternoon and instead chose to be a wiggle worm and crawl all over us. A new development though, you actually stood on your own for several seconds. Then you starting playing this game where you'd stand an then fall down and bounce around. Fortunately we were on the bed so there was plenty of cushion. You were having a ball, especially since we were laughing at you. I crack up each time you do something and then look at us just to make sure we saw you. What a ham!
Spring Break can't get here soon enough. I look so forward to spending an entire week with you, but I know going back will be hard. Not too much longer after that though and we'll have the entire summer together. I can't wait!

In my new overalls....
Yikes....I bought these at Christmas time thinking you'd wear them this spring/summer. They are 18-24 months, but they already fit!! Long legs.....just like your daddy! I pray you never grow much taller than 6'0. Hopefully, you'll be tall and beautiful like your Aunt Shelly!
Finally Friday
Whew.....this week is over and it looks like it's going out with a bang. Let's recap....Monday was President's Day so Mommy didn't have to go to school! WOHOO! Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we had games. Three games in one week is just too much. Thank goodness for Mamaw and Papaw. They stayed at home with you on Tuesday and played with you during the first game on Wednesday. Because of the boring game, 42-15 (our whopping 15 points, UGH!) they brought you home early. Our second game went pretty quickly though, so surprisingly you were still up when we got home and we had a few precious minutes to play with you. Sleeping was pretty good this week...my memory is poor tonight, but I think you only got up one night!! That's my sleeping baby back! YEAH!
So tonight, all we had was practice then we planned on eating at home. It's the first non-lunch meat sandwich meal I think we've had all week. I called Mamaw from school to tell her I was on the way, but she told me you were running fever. Oh no! Since it was 4:20 and I didn't want to have to go to the walk in clinic at the doc's office in the morning I called. They figure your ear infection from a couple of weeks ago is back and gave us some more antibiotic. You already had an appointment scheduled for Monday to check them again, so that's a relief. Daddy will take you in for that appointment to see what's going on. You haven't acted too sick tonight, so I really don't think it's a big deal. A little medicine and Tylenol and you'll feel like a champ again.
Big progress this week in the pulling up department. You no longer have to pull up, you just need a wall and you can kinda climb up it. The first time I realized this was in the kitchen. You were standing and leaning against the dishwasher. I nearly flipped out worrying about you falling and hurting your head, so I sat you down. Of course, you popped right back up to standing again. I'm realizing that bumps and bruises are gonna happen so I just need to chill about. I just hate that cry of when it happens or evidence of it (like that tiny bruise on your forehead this week!) Where that came from I don't know.
Well.......Daddy just came in so you must be sleeping away. We are gonna watch our taped shows from the week and eat some freshly baked chocolate cake. Mmmm...just what Momma needs after a week of lunch meat sandwiches. LOL! Night sweet baby....love you more than you'll ever know.

gonna be walking soon...
Mamaw got me my first pair of kicks from Stride Rite. They were quite pricy, but I can definitely stand much more balanced in them. We crack up because after we take them off you just wiggle and stretch your toes like a crazy kid!!

Trapped!
We spent the morning and afternoon shopping with Mamaw. We first had to return the gates we had because they weren't wide enough for the stairway. You will now be TRAPPED because I did find a wide enough one for the stairway. It has been put up but tonight you have been more interested in playing with your letters and not the stairway.
I picked up several things for your birthday. Spring clothes are so cute! I can't wait to see you toddling around in shorts and summer dresses!!! :) When we got home I did the bittersweet task of going through your closet. I had been still squeezing you into some 6-9 month tops, but your pudgy lil belly won't allow them much anymore. It's always sad going through and putting away small things that I know you'll never wear again. But, as always, I'm glad that you are growing and healthy.
Bath time is approaching for now. It should be fun because I picked up several new bath toys!!! Wohoo!! We'll see who has more fun with them, you or mommy? LOL! We've got basketball games the next three nights, so updates will be on hold til then.....

A busy body!
Meghan is into EVERYTHING!!! This is her favorite activity to do now in our bedroom. Pull Daddy's magazines out and start tearing. We tried to put a chair up to keep her out, but she just crawls through and then gets stuck and mad, of course!! Tonight for the first time we had to get out the baby gates because she has discovered the stairs. Unfortunately, they aren't wide enough. Looks like I gotta get longer ones tomorrow on my day off. So for tonight, we spent it chasing her from the living room to the stairs. She thought it was a fun game, I think differently. Every time we say her name now when she's crawling, she just takes off as fast as she can! To say the least....we are gonna have our hands full! Loving every minute though.......

A pic to view!
I took this pic on the same day I started my blog. I just didn't know how to post pics yet!!
Date night with Daddy
I worked last night so Meghan had alone time with her daddy. I guess he fed her Turkey/Rice dinner, but she ended up spitting it out at him. She hasn't been doing that in a while, but I guess she thought it'd be funny to do to Daddy. We definitely do not find this funny, but telling her "No!" just doesn't work either.
I didn't make much money because Chicago's was slow, but hey, it's more than I started out with. I'm sure I'll go blow it when we go the riverboat in a couple of weeks for Krista and Brandon's party. I wish I had the willpower to save money!
This morning was Daddy's morning to get up with Meghan and she slept until 8:45am. WOW! This was after sleeping all night too. I really hope that she starts sleeping all night again. It's been getting better, but still not back to the 12 hours she used to always sleep. I'm starting to get really worried about her giving up the bottle in a couple of months. She likes the sippy cup, but these days really prefers a real cup. The big plastic ones are her favs.
She is now into pulling all the magazines off the nightstand and donking her head on it, so I'd better go. Crazy kid!

The first post!
Well....it's official. I am now a blogger. This is fun, although I know until basketball is over, I won't be doing this on a regular basis.
Here goes:
Meghan is such a wild woman these days. She is into everything. She crawls everywhere and now pulls up to whatever she can get her hands on. If one of us is in the bathroom showering, we always get a visitor. She'll pull back the curtain and just give the biggest cheesiest grin. She is even becoming more brave and will attempt to move from one object to the next. She'll let go with both hands and sometimes make it and other times she won't . I'm afraid she is going to be a climber. She has already gotten herself up on the dishwasher door. One minute she's standing there like she does while I was emptying it and the next thing I know her entire body is up on the door. Oh my.....
She got to stay home with Mamaw and Papaw twice this week, because we had ball games and the kids at school are so sick, I didn't want her near that place or those sick kids. She just got over an ear infection, so another illness is not what I want. Those darn co-pays will break the bank! My parents took her out to dinner with them on Tuesday night and when we got home they told us just how much fun she had shredding napkins at dinner. Uh....well of course that's fun, but now when Mommy and Daddy won't let her have the napkins, what's she gonna do? I guess that's the fun of being a grandparent, huh?
She is just growing so quickly. I have truly enjoyed every minute (ok...maybe not the puking ;) of her life so far. I could never have imagined the kind of love you feel for your own child. It's just amazing! I thank God each day that she is mine!
