Faces of Meghan

Tons of stuff to share...

As usual, it's been a while since I've posted. Life's been busy. I just finished taking a class today to become a certified mentor to new teacher. Woo-hoo..it's over. It really ended up being quite a bit of work, so I'm glad it's done. I have decided in the mean time to go back and finish up my master's degree. I dread the course work (and paying for it) but I really need to get it done for salary reasons. I found an 18 month online program which will be fairly intense, but really the best thing. I can do it at night after Miss Thing goest to bed, so I won't have to spend even more time away from her at class. I think Greg may try to stay as far away as possible (which isn't far since he lives so close!) since I tend to get somewhat (he'd probably say a lot) crabby when I'm stressed.

Let me try to fill in the blanks of the past few weeks. Spring time is slowly, but surely, trying to arrive. We are absolutely thrilled to be able to get back outside and start swinging again. Meg's playhouse finally arrived (after a little griping at my dad and brother) so we've begun working on it. Since it does need quite a bit of work, I'll wait to post pics of it. Meg has requested to paint it purple, so I'm sure that's what it'll be as long as she doesn't change her mind. Last weeks was spring break from school. We had a busy three days home. Monday was a visit to the Children's Museum here in Indy. Her favorite part was by far the water table and sand area. Tuesday was pics with Claire and Kate. They all had their American Girl dresses on from Grandpa and had their dolls with matching dresses. Sooooo cute! Wednesday was lunch with Michelle, Bryce and Kynsey. On Thursday, we left for St. Louis. We had a blast (see pics for a brief trip summary). Meg loved going up in the "Awch" as she called it. Me...I wasn't thrilled about riding up in the tiny capsule and then being stuck up in the air so high, but I pretended like I was calm about it. We stayed up just long enough for a couple of pics, then headed right back down in the teeny tiny capsule.

As for new phrases...here's a few of my favs from recently:

When being asked a yes or no question.....she responds:
"Well....I'm gonna have to say N-O, no" or "Well....I'm gonna have to say Y-E-S, yes!" Cracks me up!

Tonight when I asked her to get in the shower, she told me "I'm not too sure about that!"

She told her dad about our trip to the zoo and said "It was lots of walking, but luckily I had my stroller!"

And the funniest...she announced as we walked by the donkeys at the zoo in St. Louis..."Look Mom...there's an ass! Did you know ass means donkey?" I just about fell over. That was also one of the first things she told Greg about her trip..."Guess what Gweg? I saw an ass at the zoo!" HA HA HA!

It's hard to believe that just four short years ago, I was impatiently waiting to meet her. My how time flies! She asked me the other day what I would do if she would have stayed a baby. Part of me longs to cuddle with the tiny baby she was, and hold her and rock her to sleep again and the other part loves how we can actually have conversations together and enjoy so much together. Such a mix of emotions I always feel when it's birthday time. I never realized how bittersweet growing up is for a parent.

Spring???

OK...so today we "sprung" forward on our clocks! Now, if the stupid weather would just cooperate. We are definitely ready to be outdoors enjoying some fresh air. This weekend was a busy one..here's recap:

Friday night-A rushed taco dinner at our house, then we headed off to see the boys' science fair projects at their school. We left in a few snow flurries, but by the time we hit the interstate, it was really coming down and the wind was horrendous. We made it safely, took a look at their work and all the other parents **ahem** I mean kids' work and headed home. Afraid of the idiots on the highway, we took the back way, which just so happened led us past Frosty Boy in New Pal...and, of course, what does everyone (or at least all of us) want while in the midst of mini-blizzard???? ICE CREAM!! Yep, Greg even walked up to the window and stood out in the weather waiting on it. Delicious!

Saturday- Sort of slept in (7:30AM) got up had a nice breakfast, then decided I had cabin fever. Greg came over to take us out to run a couple of errands. We ended up at my parents as Greg was going to plow drives if necessary. After a while, we ended up having a bite of lunch there, then came home to play out in the snow. We bundled up and headed out to the yards to play. Then we decided we needed to check out the woods and creek. We've been watching erosion in action back at the creek and it was amazing to see the progress on Saturday! Saturday night was dinner at Ponderosa w/ my whole family and our gang. (It seems like all we ever do is eat!) After dinner we headed back to Greg's. Everyone ended up totally enthralled with the Wii. Lisa actually took off Sunday morning and bought herself one, she was so excited about it.

Sunday- Claire and Kate spent the night, so the girls were all up around 6AM (7AM since we sprung forward though) We had breakfast, played around our house, then Greg's for little bit and went out for Sunday dinner. Chicken and noodles today...MY FAV! (Here we go, eating AGAIN, no wonder my pants fit like they do!) The boys did some sheep stuff and Papaw kept everyone entertained outside buidling snowmen in the horse lot. (Penny and Peggy are too sure about the snow people staring at them.) Of course, I had to get outside and join the snowball fight. Lots of fun, but I"m ready for that spring weather! Sunday night was "clean out the fridge to fill up the kids night." (Yes, the kids were hungry AGAIN!) Meg was pooped, so bedtime was easy tonight. We had some nice snuggle time in the rocking chair before she drifted off.

Tomorrow is a big day. I'm observing in a preschool to see if it seems to be a good fit for her next year and she has a speech evaluation after I observe. It's a neat program. She would be a "typical peer" in a special needs preschool, so that's why they have her speech evaluated. They asked if I had speech concerns...ummmm...not really, except that sometimes she talks so much she can't take the time to breathe or eat! HA HA HA! I guess they only accept "social" kids to encourage the postive interaction. I think she will pass that test. :) It's getting really scary at the thought of her being school aged. Sigh...that's another reflection post for another day. I need to head to bed....I doubt I could be so lucky to get a delay in the morning.

Skinny Milk Anyone?

It's official.....Meg has been brainwashed by Greg! HA! She will no longer drink "my" skim milk. :( Here's what happened:
We were having dinner one night and everyone agreed to drink milk. At the end of dinner, Greg told me that dinner was great, but that I could keep my milk. The next week, he ended up coming over with a half gallon of 2% milk. She tried it and decided that she just loved it.

Now, I'm stuck buying two different kinds of milk. The other night she announced to us that she did not like drinking Mommy's "skinny" milk and only likes Greg's. HA! If only drinking that stuff would make me skinny!

Messy Room Pic

Messy Room

Funnies from the weekend

For those of you that know Meghan personally, you know that she's quite observant. I turned on the tv last night and there was ice skating on. We started watching, then she looked up at me and said, "Gee Mama, I bet she's cold!" Yep, you're right Meg! Ice skating would probably be cold, so it doesn't make a whole lotta sense that those little girls are out there skating around in practically nothing! HA!

Then another funny from tonight. She and Greg's boys were quite busy...ok, maybe wild is more the correct term, but anyhow, they were playing. I was making dinner (tacos) and Greg was hanging w/ me in the kitchen. It's amazing how we can just ignore the total chaos around, we tend to not get worried, until they become silent. That's usually when some damage is being done. When they got ready to leave after dinner, I asked Meg if there was a mess in her room. She very sweetly said, "Noooooo Mama." I knew something was wrong. As we walked around the corner I saw her sitting in there and she said, "Welllllllllll." It was the cutest expression on her face in the midst of a DESTROYED room! I told her to sit still and got the camera. Didn't quite capture the expression, but you get the idea!

Story and pic for the day!

I was in the kitchen getting ready to bake cupcakes for the gang, when Meg walked in. She'd been helping some and watching some tv. As she walks in she says, "Maaaama am I pretty? I immediately thought, "Of course you're pretty!" but then realized something was up. When I looked up at her I saw this gorgeous face:

Pretty!

She'd been in the bathroom making herself prettier. Super idea Santa to bring makeup for a 3 year old! HA! Her face was stained pink the rest of the day, but it didn't really matter since the only public place we went was Home Depot. Who really care what ya look like there when surrounded by a bunch of tools (in more way than one!) This is yet another way this child brightens every one of my days.

Okay week....

here we come! This should be an easy one to handle. Today was a holiday, tomorrow I'm out at my interesting training, Wednesday is a half day, and Friday is a UA day, so I'm finished teaching at 10:45AM. I think I can handle it (as long as I can manage that whole day with kids on Thursday!) He...he...he....

It sounds like Meg had a topsy-turvy kinda weekend with her dad, bouncing from here and there, which I hate. I hate that she isn't provided with stability and nuturing, but there's nothing I can do to change it. As I'm told often by Greg, it's not worth it to waste my energy on being upset about it. I know he's right and I really try to let it go. She was kinda sulky this morning. She was very clingy and wanted lots of hugs. She told me about a nightmare she had that I wasn't coming back to pick her up. It nearly makes me want to cry, but I just try to reassure her that I will always be there for her to give her what she needs. She definitely perked up and became herself again when the boys came over and picked us up for a trip to Home Depot. We had a very fun afternoon. She was worn out when it came time for bed. I figured it would be a difficult process tonight, but with her being so tired, it wasn't all that bad. She did beg to sleep in my bed and for me to lay with her, but I was able to use tomorrow night's ball game as a bargaining tool. So, we're headed off to do some cheering tomorrow night. What fun!?!? Hopefully the morning clothing fiasco will even be tolerable. We've got clothes all laid and they are even next to the vent so they aren't "cold clothes" in the morning.

Morning Review

Well...the clothes thing worked...for the most part. Just a minor problem, with the temperature of them. Apparently they were "cold" clothes. Don't really understand what that means, but it definitely created tears. Not horrible screaming ones, but tears indeed. The other issue today was that fact that I didn't have chocolate cereal. Again....no idea what that is, b/c I rarely even buy cereal.

Good news though...she did agree to wear her new tennis shoes. She wore them all day and even admitted that they felt good! Yeah!

It's a weekend without Meg. While I feel like I've been stressed all week in the mornings, I hate when she's not around it's just not the same. It'll be a busy weekend though. I'm sure Greg and I will spend "our" time together, which is nice. We need that alone time for "us." I also HAVE to go to school and try to get caught up and then, as always, there's work at Chicago's. Hope it's busy....Mama's got bills to pay. If only I had another wedding ring set to sell! HA HA HA! Happy Friday to everyone!

I say black....she says white!

Oh my gosh! Where has this child come from????? This week has been a total flip of last week. Last week the issue was going to bed. I endured screaming, crying, and utter madness just trying to get her to go to bed. Not this week....she's been an angel every night. After I tuck her in and accommodate a couple of her requests (just ONE more hug and kiss and a drink usually) she's been off to sleepy-land. It's been great, very peaceful! Stress free evenings!!! :)

Mizz Thing has decided she can't make life that easy for Mama, so mornings has been the terror time. She now wants a say in her clothes, not just simple, I wanna wear these pink pants with this orange shirt kinda thing, but refusing to wear only sweatpants. I'm totally thinking back to my cousin Andrew and his now infamous black sweats in July that he insisted upon wearing EVERYDAY. Paybacks are he**, huh? HA! I'd be totally fine if she just wanted to wear mismatched clothes, but the problem is much larger. She hates anything I pick out. Today the pants were too long and the sleeves on the shirts were also too long. Do you know what a total dork she looked like going in to daycare today. Picture it:

**Pink sweat pants, rolled up to over her brown boots and striped shirt with sleeves rolled up too

Don't forget, it's about 15 degrees here right now, so it's cold...like should be all bundled up cold, but NOOOOO not my sweet Meggie, she's strolling in like it's sweet summertime!!

So, after a lunch room discussion today at school we've tried something new. She helped me pick out two outfits, with accompanying socks, undies and everything else tonight. In the morning, she gets to pick one. If it works and makes for a tear-free Thursday morning, I'm gonna run into school, find Robin (the teacher who suggested it) and give her a huge hug! :) I'll keep ya posted! {{{{{fingers crossed}}}}}}}

Some stuff to share...

I just love Meg's comments...some are funny, some are sweet and some are mean. I thought I'd share of few of her latest comments with anyone who cares to read.

*One night as she was getting ready to go to bed and was trying to butter me up so I'd lay with her...."I just can't believe you're my mommy, I'm so lucky."

*"I didn't have a good day today (at daycare) because I just missed you."

*After Greg brought her ice cream when she was not feeling well....."Thanks, you know, ice cream makes everything better."

*Going through the Chicago's drive through to pick up my paycheck only...we weren't there to get food as it was not a meal time..."Mommy, I suuuuure am hungry!" She, of course, ended up getting breadsticks b/c I knew exactly what she was getting at. Such a sneaky little thing.

*After picking up her medicine this week at CVS...."Do you smell that Mommy? I smell pink medicine!" It ended up being white and she was SOOOOO not happy about that and thought I should tasted it first to make sure it was ok.

*And of course...all the times she tells me....."MEAN MOMMY!" We had this discussion today at lunch when I was once again mean b/c I asked her to drink her milk (I know...terrribly mean and awful of me, isn't it?) I asked her if mean mommies let their kids go to the movies, pick out their own candy, and even drink some Coke. And if mean mommies take their kids to the park to play? And if mean mommies let their kids choose the spot they want to nap in. All of these things we'd done TODAY. She kinda slumped down in her chair and said, "Well, you're not that mean." HA!

Oh to be a three year old........

What a year!

Wow! What a year it's been! I feel like this has been a truly successful year. Meg and I were able to ring in 2007 in Florida on an amazing trip with my parents. The weather was gorgeous and we had a lot of fun. Meg loved the beach and sand and I loved the sun and warmth (and volleyball with a bunch of well-aged people!) Spring time brought us a new house. An adventure I still can't believe I took on all by myself, but am loving every minute of it. Having my very own place and making it on my own means the world to me. I'm so thankful that I'm able to provide this wonderful place to Meg. We spent much of the rest of spring and summer playing outdoors. The woods is quite an adventuresome place. Our trips to Holiday World and Holland, Michigan were nice breaks to the summer. This fall brought a quick visit to Saline to see Aunt Marcia and family. Meg loved performing on the stage at the "play place" that she enjoys. Christmas just ended, so we're currently trying to wrap up (or maybe it's unwrap) all the new stuff. Meg got a little bit of everything, so the hardest part is deciding what to play with next. It's amazing to look back on 2007 and see how much Meg has grown, and how much I've grown. She's become quite independent, which at times makes me sad. I love that she has her own mind and is able to think and express herself now (even though it's quite sassy at times!) I've come to realize too that while I love being independent myself, having help sure is nice. There are people that can be relied on and want me to rely on them, so I'm trying. It's a wonderful feeling that someone truly does care for me and wants to be there. I'm enjoying it for the mean time and hope it continues for quite a long while! :) 2008....ready or not.....here we come!

Cabin Fever!

OK...so Meg and I really enjoy spending most of our time outside or on the go doing something, this wintry weather is killing us! I refuse to take the risk of driving anywhere (lots of idiot drivers out there) so we're stuck home...inside. We did play outside yesterday afternoon with the neighbors, but Meg's winter stuff (coveralls, etc...) is at Mamaw and Papaw's so we can't stay out too long. We did make a snowman, with our new crafty snowman kit, and she even had a chance to ride the sled behind Greg's 4-wheeler, which was lots of fun for her. The boys sandwich her in the middle to make sure not too much snow blows up in her face, so she looks like a blob just laying there in the middle of them. We even took a wintry walk back to the creek, I of course had to carry her some of the way, which was a pretty good work out, or so I figured. That's why I had an extra brownie for dessert last night! HA!

Anyways, this morning we awoke to MORE SNOW! Now it's coming down and blowing all around too, so once again, we're stuck inside! This morning Miss Meg has already put 4 dots with a permanent marker on my couch and made a hole in the wall with a rocking chair and it's only 9:30 <<>> We did manage to go through toys and get rid of some just in time for Santa to bring another batch for us!

Christmas Program

I couldn't find my camera last Sunday, so I have no pics of the daycare/church Christmas program, but let me tell you, it was wonderful! Meg sung her little heart out. We've been listening to that music practicing now since before Thanksgiving (and if you know me, was against my beliefs!) HA HA! She not only knew all the singing words, but she was up there mouthing the spoken parts too!

She and Kate sat next to each other. Overall, I couldn't believe how well behaved everyone was. The kids (lots of them!) sat up there and were nearly perfect. I mean there were your typical nose pickers (yes...one of them was Meg ***hide***) and little squirmers and occasional yeller, but for young kids, they were amazing! Hoots (or is it Hollers for you G-field people) to Pastor and Miss Libby for that! Those people are amazing! We love them and can't imagine what another daycare would be like. Anyways...Meg picked a feather off her angel wing and decided to start to point it at me. She kept sort of flicking it, then pointing it. We got to laughing at her, which only encouraged her more, so what's the right thing for her to do? Pick one off for Kate. Then they both started doing it. After a few minutes of that it got boring, so they decided to try another tactic to make sure they were being paid attention to....hugging. Yes, those sweet little angels, sat up there and loved on each other. It was sweet as can be and I do have that videoed! Maybe we need to show it on one of their hair pulling/spitting days? HA!

One little funny about the song....she told me this week that she wanted to hear the "All Da Hay" song. I couldn't figure it out until she started singing....All Da Haaaaay, angels sing....glory to the newbown king! I cracked up....I'll never hear "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" again and not think of her sweet interpretation. What joy that is!

I can hardly wait for Christmas to get here. It seems like every year as she gets older, it gets more fun. I hope that never stops!

Brrrr...looks cold!

My Snow Angel

We had our first snow of winter last week. Meg absolutely loved it! I woke up the first morning it snowed and let her peek out the window and she got this really excited look on her face and said "Let's go play in it and build a snowman!" So sweet and innocent..no clue that building a snowman at 6AM is the LAST thing on anyone's list to do! HA! We did manage to get outside after school for some fun in the snow. She loved doing snow angels and when Greg and the boys came tooling up on the four wheeler with a sled attached to the back, she was really excited!

Rah! Rah! Rah!

Meg is obsessed with cheerleading thanks to Mamaw. She loves it and thinks the girls are absolutely amazing. We went to a game a few weeks ago where she wore her own cheer outfit. She, Kate and Claire all stood in the bleachers and cheered. The had a ball. When the girls offered to send them up in the air, there was, of course, one brave volunteer.....Miss Meghan! She loved it!

We're baaaaack!

Wow! It's been a while, but I'm back to blogging. Had computer issues, moved, couldn't figure out how to log in, but whew! I got it all figured out. I look forward to getting back to chronicling (is that even a word) Meg's amazing life. I realized yesterday how a toddler's mind works. She asked be "Momma, when's it gonna be tomorrow?" I replied, tomorrow and she just gave me a puzzled look. I guess it never really is tomorrow if you think about it like a three-year old.

Future Mia?

Meghan is getting the hang of kicking a ball, which most definitely excites her daddy, who is now obsessed with World Cup soccer. It's funny because we were having a conversation about her athletic talents, or what I was saying is lack thereof at this point. He told me it's because she spends too much time with that "farm crap" at Mamaw and Papaw's. HA!

Windy traveling!

Meghan thought having the window open and blowing in her face was lots of fun on the ride home from Springfield.  I told her it was her chance to practice her "model look!"

Having fun camping!

Just posting some pics from our little mini vacation we took with Mamaw, Papaw, Grandpa and Claire to Springfield, Illinois over Memorial Day weekend.  We did a little sightseeing and quite a bit of relaxing, although it was HOT HOT HOT!  The girls look like they are so kind to each other here, huh?  Not so all the time!  They fight just like siblings, as neither one is into sharing that much!  HA!

Watch the judge

Meghan is practicing showing her sheep, but if I have anything to do with it, sheep won't be on her list of animals to show!  I hated showing those dumb animals! Go for the cattle or horses Meghan!

The Terrific Two's

I"d love to post pics, but I can't get Photobucket to work for me tonight. Hopefully, it will tomorrow and I can post pics. We had an exciting and fun weekend! Friday of course was Meghan's birthday. We went to Cholula's so she could have her Quesadilla and "Prite" just like she likes, then we took her and her guests (Mamaw and Papaw, by her choice) to see The Wild. The movie was good, but got a little exciting about 1/3 of the way through. We had to leave the theatre and go into the hall because the tornado sirens were going off. We had about a 20 minute delay, then we had the all clear to go back in and finish. Meghan of course fell asleep, but she still enjoyed it. Saturday night was her party. Our family all came over to celebrate, Dora style, with a homemade Dora cake decorated specially by me! Please remind me next year to buy a cake! HA! She had a blast opening presents and such, but the real fun was everyone in our front yard around the tree playing Duck, Duck, Goose and Ring-around-the-Rosie. The neighbors had to totally think we are complete wackos, but we sure did have a good laugh. (pics to come later!)
Today, of course, was Easter. Papaw Randy met us at church for the sunrise service and breakfast. The afternoon we spent (eating more) at Mamaw and Papaw Bodell's. Meghan also had plenty of time playing in the barn with all the new chickens and turkeys, along with Owie the bunny and Charlotte the pig. All in all it was a great weekend! As I said, pics will come later when photobucket works for me again.

Champion!

She looks like a real champion here, huh? HA! This was taken on Saturday as she was "helping" with her laundry. She proceeded to take her jammies off and find this red sock and this pink sock to dress herself. Oh my! Every time we turn around, she's taken her clothes off these days. <<sigh>> The diaper comes off too. She will yell out "Hey everybody, meeeee poopy!" and then take it and throw it away in this trash. I really can't wait until she's potty trained all the way so we don't have to buy the stupid things anymore.

Favorite Thing

This is Miss Thing's favorite thing to do right now.  She loves to stand on my stool and play in the water.  That little cup is just so much fun to drink out of.  Tonight, as you can see Jim-Bear had to sit and watch her.  He had a busy night watching her doing this and playing Duck-Duck-Goose with us.  LOL!

It's a bird, it's a plane.....

It's SUPER MEGHAN!!!!!!!  She's got on her towel, Daddy's socks and a huge grin.  She's  thinks she's pretty funny.

I'll guess I'll update while I'm on.  Her "thing" this week has been tattle-telling. Like I don't hear  enough of that at school. <sigh>  Luke, whom she calls Duke, poked her in the eye with a crayon at the sitter's yesterday.  She told me as soon as I got there and then waited on her daddy to walk through the door. She was so excited to tell him, that she could nearly get her words out.  We even had to call Mamaw and Papaw tonight to tell them and she told Uncle Ryan when he came over tonight.  I can just hear the teachers complaining about her now...that kid tells on everyone!  HA!

She also tells us now..."Oh my gosh, meeee mess."  I hate to look when I hear these words because I know it means I'm gonna have to get out the vacuum, Resolve, sponge, or mop (or sometimes all of them at once.)  Even with all the messes, this sure is fun.  I just love the personality she's getting.  She cracks us up with something new every day.

Here's one of the pics from the new picture place we went!  I'm so happy with them and as you can tell from this, Meghan was in a great mood and feeling like a star!  HA!  Now, if she'd just stop acting like a spoiled movie star!  ;)

First Hair Cut

Meghan got her first hair cut last night.  She was an angel for the guy who cut it.  She really enjoyed looking at herself in the mirror. That's so much like Ryan it isn't even funny!  HA HA!

My Little Monkey....

Jumping on the bed.  I just hope she doesn't fall off and break her head, like the rhymes.  She's really become a little daredevil.  The other night she was lying on her back and flipping herself backwards off the couch.  She loves to jump and can finally get both feet off the ground.  The bed is nice and springy and helps a lot!

ME DO IT!

She is obsessed with putting on her own shoes....and taking them off for that matter.  She yells out "Me Do It!"  This was her church outfit last Sunday.

Cheese

I think maybe she eats too much cheese by the looks of this pic!  She's got like 3 chins!!! LOL

I think we may be "thooose" parents

Really....we're not pushing her to love basketball, we just have taught her a few things about the game.  Like this picture shows...this is her defensive slide position!! HA HA!  She moves her hand up and down and says "Dribble, dribble shoot" which was really cute for a while, but we figured that was enough offense for now, so we started working on slides.  You know they say, defense wins ball games!!!!!!  Oh and  she can also say UCONN, Go Huskies and Tennessee.  :)

Quite a Pose

She's become such a ham!  We're going for pictures tomorrow evening, so I hope that she does some cute poses like this, but I doubt it!  She usually doesn't cooperate when I want her to.  :/

Meghan is really into getting herself all dolled up these days.  The other night, she had just finished putting on her pj's (actually her daddy put them on) and she found her pie, and got out her new shoes and was running around like a wild child.  She did stop briefly enough for me to snap this shot.  She really likes getting her pictures taken now and then running over to the screen to see herself.  She definitely gets that from her dad!  HA!

Lego Tower

I'm not really sure who's enjoying Meghan's gifts more, Meghan or us.  Ryan built this huge tower tonight with her new Lego's.  He was really impressed with his talents.  I'm a big fan of the Tigger that does cartwheels.  It's like being a kid all over again, which is lots of fun!

Dressing Up

Aunt Lisa and family knew just how much Meghan loves to dress up with Claire's clothes.  Meghan now has her own clothes, with high heels even!  WOW!  As you can see, she sure is proud of herself being dressed up as a princess.

Jim has a face!

Dean and Diana went to Build a Bear and stuffed new bears for the girls.  This is the softest bear I've ever felt and they even named it Jim for Meghan.  HA!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was at Mom and Dad's this year.  It was a great and as always, I stuffed myself silly with all the good food.  The girls sure enjoyed all the attention!

Potty Elf???

So many title ideas for this one:

The Queen Elf on Her Throne

Santa's Little Potty Pooper

On Donner, On Vixen, On....the Toilet????

Posing on the Porcelin God

That's enough...I won't continue with the bad jokes.  Someday this picture may help us to scare away a boyfriend of Meghan's!  HA!  We got these Christmas pj's and they came with the silly hat, like many of them.  Well....Meghan has attached herself to this thing. She's rocking with Ryan right now and is STILL wearing it. I truly think she's going to sleep in it tonight.  She's nuts I tell ya!  She, of course, had to go potty tonight before her bath, while wearing the hat and I just had to capture the moment.  I was able to coax it off of her for bath time, but for a short while I thought she was going to insist on wearing it in the tub.  Ahhhh....I can just picture it now when she's sixteen!

Papaw's Lil Elves

Here are the girls in their Christmas jammies from Mamaw and Papaw.  A pretty good looking, bunch don't ya think?  Getting a decent picture of all them wasn't too easy.  They are a very busy bunch!

Meghan and Emily

Just had to post this pic too!  This is "Emmy" as Meghan calls her.  Anytime we see someone who has long hair, MEghan yells out to them and calls them Emmy.  We even find that Emmy hangs out at our house along with Jim....Meghan's other "friend."

More Halloween

Well...I'm a holiday behind in posting these, but they say better late than never!  I actually didn't get any pictures over Thanksgiving, so I won't have any to post.  Bad Mommy...I know!  These are some pics that Emily and Dean took when we stopped at their house for trick-or-treating.  Keep in mind this is the house that whenever we pull in the drive, she starts yelling, "No, Mommy!" because the only time we ever go there is when I'm going to drop her off.  I find it kind of amusing, just because I know that as soon as I leave she's having a ball.  They always take her to see the kitties and sheep which she just loves!

Speaking of Thanksgiving, we had a nice time.  On Wednesday night we were at Mamaw and Papaw's house to de-bone the turkey.  That's becoming a tradition and every year, it's funnier and funnier.  Some sick humor is definitely involved! HA!  Thursday early morning we ate our first dinner there.  I unfortunately ate so much I made myself ill.  Ugh...maybe it was the entire plate of dessert I ate after the second helping of dressing????  Who knows..anyways, in the late afternoon we went to Papaw Reed's house.  Meghan enjoyed playing with Kamryn, although for some reason Uncle Robby still scares her.  Who knows what goes through her head sometimes!  Saturday we went to get our Christmas tree and had yet another family dinner at Annie and Uncle Rich's house.  Meghan was not herself, but I chalked it up to there being too many people.  Well....I was wrong.  She's been sick all day today with a fever.  (((SIGH)))  Ryan and I are doing half days tomorrow to take care of her.  I'm sure I'll be taking her to see Dr. K. tomorrow, which is always lots of fun on a Monday and even more fun considering the holiday weekend we just had.  Hopefully, we'll get some medicine and back to normal soon.

Go Colts

I saw this Peyton M. jersey at Wal-Mart and just couldn't pass it up!  She quite a cute little Colts fan, don't ya think?  Her hair is also getting nice and long. It's much easier to put up in pigtails these days, especially when I tell her we're going to do her hair like Claire's.  At this point she'd do ANYTHING Claire does!  It's so cute to watch them together.
